Our Stories: Veronica Marin, Scholar Success Committee Chair

Veronica, Scholar Success Committee Chair, started volunteering with Esperanza in 2016. She joined Esperanza because she is an advocate for youth and is passionate about post-secondary education and persistence for all students regardless of their backgrounds. As a first-generation college graduate, Veronica has an appreciation for the work and support that Esperanza does for its Scholars.

A proud University of Maryland alumna and Washington, D.C. native, Veronica hopes to continue to support the success of all Esperanza scholars. She brings a wealth of experience to the Scholar Success Committee from previous positions working with local D.C. area youth at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History and for the non-profit organization – For Love of Children. Veronica currently works at the University of Maryland, College park, where she also obtained her B.A. in History.
