Our Stories: Shannon Trudge, Board Member

Shannon is a social impact strategist focused on the intersections of policy change and movement-
building, organizational development and cultural transformation for the public, private, and nonprofit
sectors to yield lasting and equitable outcomes for society. Her purpose is to transform the dynamics of
power and to amplify the voices of those who are historically disenfranchised and underrepresented
identities in the U.S. and across the Diaspora. As Director at The Raben Group, a national public affairs
firm, she has overseen organizational design strategies centering the most impacted communities to create
social change and equity. Shannon has been as a mentor for Community Bridges and other youth-focused
nonprofits in the DMV area, is an alumna of the American University Women and Politics Institute’s
WeLead bipartisan leadership program, is a member of the #BlackWomeninDev global network, and is a
Young Leaders Council Member for Vital Voices Global Partnership. Shannon is a first-generation
Trinidadian-American who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Minor in International
Studies from American University in Washington, D.C.
