Paula began working with Esperanza as Program Manager of the scholars’ program in 2021. She actively works to support scholars with their academic and financial needs, and also provides further resources and guidance via the scholar mentor program, virtual meetups, hosting Career Days and sharing the scholars’ amazing stories through the monthly newsletter.
Paula has always been passionate about bringing education and economic opportunities to underserved communities around the world. She previously served as a Peace Corps volunteer as an environmental education promoter, has managed a scholarship program for over 80 rural youth in Nicaragua, and tutors students and adults learning English to help them on their journey to U.S. citizenship.
Paula Mulhair holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Hispanic Studies from the College of William and Mary and an executive certificate in Nonprofit Management from the McCourt School Of Public Policy at Georgetown University.
