Our Stories: Kate Jackson, Volunteer

Kate Jackson, Volunteer, moved to DC 4 years ago for a fellowship as Chief of Staff for the McKinsey Center for Government and has put roots down in the city, including as a volunteer with Esperanza. Kate has long admired the organization since she learned that her college classmate (and a cappella group member!) Alvaro Bedoya co-founded it and is honored to be a part of the Esperanza community.

Kate is now an independent consultant working with non-profit, government and socially oriented business on their strategy, operations and human capital plans to be more innovative and effective. She has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a BA from Harvard University.

“Students who are hard working, capable and honorable should always have the opportunity to excel and learn. Esperanza plays a critical role in making education accessible, affordable and sustainable. Our community is better for it.”
