Our Stories: Joselyn, Scholar (2021)

After immigrating to the United States at 16, Joselyn had to wait for 2 years to begin the GED program because she didn’t have a legal guardian to sign for her to attend high school. Since then, Joselyn became the first to ever graduate from the ESOL GED Option Pilot Program in Beltsville, Maryland in 2021.

Joselyn is excited to begin her higher learning education at Hagerstown Community College, where she plans to complete her Associate’s degree in psychology so that she can help others and provide support in their times of need.
