Our Stories: Anubhav, Scholar (2019)

Anubhav is a young immigrant from Nepal with near-perfect grades and SAT scores, who spent four years of high school volunteering with LIFT (Learning through Inquiry Fellowship and Tutoring) where he worked to help low-income middle school students get into his magnet public high school. He also volunteered to help low-income elementary school students find the joy of STEM. In the summer of 2018, he completed a neuroscience internship, studying Rett Syndrome, at Georgetown University and looks forward to continuing medical research at INOVA’s Advanced Lung Diseases and Transplant Department this summer. Guaranteed admission to its medical school, he will study biology/pre-med at Virginia Commonwealth University.
