Our scholars have traveled great distances, both literally and metaphorically. Each and every one has achieved “more with less,” overcoming challenges unique to the immigrant experience, and working tirelessly in order to achieve his or her dreams.
Scholars include not only valedictorians, campus leaders, and accomplished musicians and athletes, but also GED holders and community college students who immigrated to the United States alone, worked full-time jobs while attending high school, took care of their younger siblings after school instead of joining clubs, and managed to learn English in just a few years.
Every year, we select about 10 scholars from a pool of hundreds of applicants.
