Help us give hope to immigrant students by joining one of our committees.
Our all-volunteer committees are the driving force behind Esperanza’s ability to help our scholars succeed. Join one of our committees today!
The Alumni Committee builds and maintains a network of scholars who have already graduated college. It connects alumni to current scholars, helping alums advise current scholars on career questions, the internship and job search process, and campus life.
Join us: Volunteers can help organize advising opportunities and help coordinate events that will bring together alumni and current scholars. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Development Committee finances new scholarships through strategic partnerships with businesses and philanthropic foundations. It also throws parties, including our annual benefit concert at the Mexican Cultural Institute, which features nationally recognized artists.
Join us: Volunteers can help pitch potential donors and help organize happy hours, our annual benefit, and other creative events. Contact: email@example.com
The Marketing Committee tells Esperanza’s story – through social media, scholar updates, and our email newsletter. It works with the Development team to conduct online fundraising campaigns that often are just as lucrative as our annual benefit.
Join us: Volunteers can help develop campaigns for Facebook and Twitter, and generally help us tell our story online and eventually, through video. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Scholar Success Committee pairs our scholars with mentors, and works to ensure that they achieve their full potential. It coordinates our annual Career Day, which provides scholars one-on-one instruction on resume writing, interviewing, and other skills for professional success.
Join us: Volunteers can help organize Career Day, recruit new mentors for our scholars, and ensure that those relationships thrive. Contact: email@example.com
The Scholarship Committee selects new Esperanza scholars and recruits potential applicants. It holds information sessions and reaches out to high schools. It runs our online application, recruits and coordinates volunteer readers, selects finalists, and holds in-person interviews.
Join us: Volunteers can help recruit applicants and volunteer readers, select finalists for interviews, and conduct interviews themselves. Contact: Julia Fuma (firstname.lastname@example.org)
