We’re so excited to announce the lineup for our 10th anniversary benefit concert on Tuesday June 5! This year, we’ll be presenting the Esperanza Award to UndocuBlack, an organization co-founded by one of our own scholars, Jonathan Jayes-Green, for their tireless work to represent the voices of America’s undocumented, Black immigrants. We’ll also enjoy a musical performance by DC’s very own Los Gallos Negros, and – for the first time ever – we will present our latest class of scholars with their awards in person.
Since 2009, the Esperanza Education Fund has awarded over $800,000 in scholarships to help immigrant students beat tall odds to attend and finish college. It doesn’t matter where they’re from, and we don’t ask for their papers. We recognize our linked fates and celebrate our common humanity with the belief that all students should have access to higher education, no matter where they came from or how they got here.
Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite. Early bird tickets are $15 off until May 14, so reserve your seat now for an incredible night of immigrant love. We’ll see you there!
